It's hard to explain the change of seasons. Not so much the science of it but its more metaphysical attributes. Why does it move us when leaves turn from vibrant green to brilliant color and then ultimately tumble in the breeze to become fodder for the next generation of life. Maybe it's just the most visible reminder of the passage of time or maybe it's just that it heralds the holiday season, Oktoberfest beers and football. It could be that the chill we feel is simply the cool air and nothing more. But then composers wouldn't have celebrated it for hundreds of years; music speaks where words fail.  Whether your cup of tea (or hot cocoa or cider) is Vivaldi or "Autumn Leaves" take a minute to find some music that celebrates this magical time of the year. I'm about to post my own tribute to the season; stay tuned.
